Puto and Hot Chocolate Drink

One of the Filipino snack is the Puto or Steamed Cake. It is served in any occasion; birthdays, Christmas and many  more .But most specially to the Filipinos, they also served this in the morning for breakfast with "dinuguan" or "pansit". Hot Choco is mostly the partner of this delicious puto.

Puto is a steamed cake that is traditionally made up of ground rice and it can also be topped with cheese or salted egg.. Other puto is not just made up of ground rice, other pinoy uses flour to make it.

Puto is made up of cake flour ( ground rice ), sugar, baking powder, salt, water, egg whites and fresh milk.



Hot Chocolate Drink made with real cacao seed is the most favorite drinks of the Filipino in the morning other than coffee. It can be partnered with almost anything; puto, suman, poured in plain rice. In plain rice, hot choco can be accompanied with tuyo.

Pandesal and Hot Coffee




Pandesal and Hot Coffee is one of the very famous breakfast combination in the Philippines. Pandesals are usually dip into coffee before being eaten. That's the reason why Filipino's are tagged as "malinis" or clean because foreigner assumed that bread are being cleaned into the coffee.



Bread of Salt or what Filipino calls "Pandesal" is the most in demand in the Philippines because t is one of the most favorite bread for breakfast of the Pinoys.

Being a famous bread for breakfast, Filipino can buy it in the nearest bakery in their barangay. And one thing you can observe is the long line made of Mothers, Fathers or even children just to have that bread.


It is not just for breakfast, in some season it is a best seller. For example, on Christmas season, every "Simbang- Gabi" Pinoy's goes directly to bakery before going home to buy Pandesal for their breakfst.

If you want your bread to be more special, you can add some "palaman" of fillings like butter, jam, cheese spread, margarine and even scrambled egg.



Coffee is another favorite "pampainit ng sikmura" every morning of the Filipinos. This can never be forgotten to be served for breakfast.

It is a brewed drink prepared from roasted coffee beans, which are the seed of berries from the Coffee Plant
